Professor Klisenko Marta Arkhipovna (08.03.1925–14.11.2017) Doctor of Biological Sciences in the specialty "Hygiene", Professor of "Analytical Chemistry", a well-known scientist in Ukraine and abroad, laureate of the State Prize of Ukraine in the field of science and technology for her outstanding contribution to the development of analytical chemistry, toxicology and hygiene of pesticide use. In the middle of the last century, she became the founder of a new scientific direction in analytical chemistry, namely "analytical chemistry of pesticides". On her initiative, chromatography (chromatographic methods) was first introduced into the practice of sanitary-chemical and toxicological-hygienic research in the country, which opened up fundamentally new opportunities in determining trace amounts of pesticides and greatly expanded the possibilities of studying their metabolism, distribution and accumulation in the body, hygienic regulation and diagnostics of occupational poisonings and diseases. From 1964 to 1989, she was delegated by the country to the Commission on Pesticide Residues of the European Plant Protection Organization, and repeatedly to numerous WHO commissions; she was elected a titular member of the International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry (IUPAC). The author of the first methods in the country for the determination of pesticides in production facilities and the environment, biomedias, agricultural raw materials and food products (about 150 in total), 10 monographs (scientific and practical manuals, textbooks, reference books on analytical chemistry and methods for determining pesticide residues). Professor Marta Klisenko is the founder of the scientific school of analytical chemistry of pesticides. Her ideas on the development of theoretical issues of the chromatographic behavior of pesticides of various chemical origins, the relationship of their molecular structure with biological activity, behavior in the environment and in the body found logical development and embodiment in the dissertations of her students; More than 30 candidates and doctors of chemical and biological sciences are actively working in Ukraine and abroad – in Armenia, Georgia, Moldova, Kazakhstan, rf, Uzbekistan, Germany, the USA, Israel, etc.
