Introduction. The organization of the nurse's workspace in a hospital setting is an important factor in increasing the efficiency of nursing activities and ensuring patient safety. A rationally arranged workplace helps reduce the time spent on performing professional duties, improves the logistics of medical personnel movement, and allows for the optimal use of material and human resources. In modern healthcare systems, considerable attention is paid to ergonomics, digitalization of documentation, standardization of work processes, and the implementation of international standards for organizing nursing practice.

The aim of the research – to analyze modern approaches to organizing the workspace of nurses in a hospital in Ukraine and European countries and determine their impact on the quality and safety of medical care.

Materials and methods of the research. The materials of the study were scientific publications by domestic and foreign authors, regulatory documents, and international recommendations on the organization of nursing activities. The bibliosemantic method was used to analyze modern sources, systemic and comparative methods to generalize approaches to the organization of the workspace of nurses in Ukraine and Europe, as well as the analytical method to form generalized conclusions.

Results. The comparative analysis showed that in European countries the organization of the work of nurses is based on a clear standardization of procedures, rational distribution of functions, digitalization of medical documentation, optimization of logistics and ergonomic arrangement of the workspace. The use of such approaches allows to reduce the time for performing routine operations, increase the efficiency of nurses and reduce the risk of errors. In Ukraine, there is a gradual transformation of the organization of the work of nurses with the introduction of modern standards, however, problems of staffing, insufficient standardization of processes and limited use of innovative technologies remain. The analysis showed that the implementation of comprehensive organizational and technological solutions, including ergonomic work areas and digitalization of documentation, is key to improving the quality and safety of medical care.

Conclusion. Optimization of the nurse's workspace in a hospital is an effective means of increasing nursing productivity, reducing staff workload, and improving patient safety. The use of international experience and modern organizational approaches contributes to the improvement of the healthcare system and the quality of medical care at the institution and country levels.

Key words: nurse, workspace, hospital, labor organization, digitalization, standardization, model, optimization.
